The UCSF Neuro-Infectious Diseases Clinic cares for patients with neurological infections and systemic infections that exhibit neurological signs. The clinic, staffed by neurologists with advanced training in infectious diseases, is located within the UCSF Infectious Diseases Clinic. We serve patients with a wide range of neurological infections, including brain abscesses, the tapeworm infection called neurocysticercosis, and neurological complications of syphilis or HIV. We also treat neurological syndromes such as meningitis, encephalitis or myelitis caused by bacterial, fungal, viral or parasitic infections.

In addition to patient consultations, our services include lumbar puncture testing, referrals for neuroimaging and for other diagnostic procedures, and coordination of care among relevant subspecialists. The clinic is led by neuro-infectious diseases specialist Dr. Felicia Chow.
